Postdoctoral Researcher in Organic Electronics and Plasmonics
Develop advanced nanoparticle array geometries to enhance OLED efficiency and emission control in a cutting-edge nanophotonics lab.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with hands-on experience in nanofabrication, OLED characterization, and plasmonics, seeking to contribute to high-impact interdisciplinary research at the intersection of materials science and photonics.
Overview
This postdoctoral position at Aalto University’s Quantum Dynamics (QD) group focuses on advancing organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) by embedding nanoparticles to control emission properties such as polarization, color, and angular distribution. The successful candidate will design, fabricate, and experimentally characterize OLED devices using advanced nanofabrication techniques (e.g., electron-beam lithography) and sophisticated characterization methods (e.g., Fourier plane imaging). The project integrates experimental work with theoretical simulations to optimize device performance, with a strong emphasis on commercialization potential. The role involves hands-on research in a state-of-the-art cleanroom (Micronova) and close collaboration with theorists to achieve precise emission control while improving OLED efficiency. The position is ideal for researchers with expertise in organic electronics, nanophotonics, and nanofabrication.
