Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Biology of Wnt Signaling
Explore the conformational dynamics of Dishevelled in Wnt signaling using advanced structural biology and biophysical techniques.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in Life Sciences, structural biology, or related fields, passionate about NMR spectroscopy, biophysical techniques, and Wnt signaling mechanisms.
Overview
This postdoctoral position at Masaryk University’s Tripsianes Research Group in Brno focuses on unraveling the structural and functional mechanisms of Dishevelled (DVL), a central hub in Wnt signaling. The project integrates structural biology (NMR, X-ray crystallography, cryoEM), biophysical assays (FRET, ITC, BLI), and cellular assays to investigate how DVL’s conformational plasticity regulates signal transduction. Candidates will address three key questions: the role of intrinsic disorder in DVL function, the hierarchy of phosphorylation events, and the physical behaviors governing DVL’s phase separation. The work bridges molecular biology, structural biology, and biophysics to advance Wnt research with broad implications for developmental biology and disease.
What you'll do
- Conduct advanced structural biology experiments (NMR, X-ray crystallography, cryoEM) to characterize DVL conformations and interactions.
- Develop and apply biophysical techniques (FRET, ITC, BLI) to study DVL’s phosphorylation and phase separation behaviors.
- Perform cellular assays (TopFlash, BRET) to correlate structural findings with functional outcomes in Wnt signaling.
- Collaborate with proteomics and bioinformatics teams to analyze DVL’s interaction network and post-translational modifications.
- Design and execute experiments to address one or more of the three core research questions proposed by the group.
- Publish findings in high-impact journals and present results at international conferences.
- Contribute to lab meetings, mentor junior researchers, and participate in group discussions to advance Wnt signaling research.
