Overview

The Fundamental and Applied Heterochemistry Laboratory (LHFA) at the University of Toulouse offers a three-year doctoral position focusing on coordination chemistry and catalysis. The appointed researcher will design and synthesize non-innocent ligands to examine their reactivity in derived complexes involving group 2 metals and p-block metalloids. This project seeks to expand cooperative catalysis into main group elements, presenting significant potential in chemical synthesis. Candidates are expected to bring a strong background in molecular chemistry and a passion for experimental research.

What you'll do

  • Design and synthesize novel non-innocent ligands with modulated L/X donor sites.
  • Investigate the coordination chemistry of these ligands with group 2 metals and p-block metalloids.
  • Study the chemical reactivity of the derived s- and p-block metal complexes.
  • Evaluate the application of synthesized complexes in cooperative catalysis.
  • Analyze experimental data, maintain detailed laboratory records, and prepare research findings for publication.
