Head of Almaty Campus

Coventry University Kazakhstan is seeking a senior leader to establish and direct its Almaty campus, launching in September 2026. This role requires a visionary executive with deep experience in higher education leadership, particularly in international or UK university contexts. The Head of Campus will oversee academic programmes, student experience, faculty recruitment, financial sustainability, and external partnerships while ensuring alignment with UK academic standards and Kazakh regulatory requirements. The position demands expertise in strategic planning, governance, and cross-cultural stakeholder management to build a high-quality campus serving regional and global needs. Candidates should demonstrate a track record in institutional growth, operational excellence, and fostering collaborative academic environments.

• Provide strategic leadership for all academic and operational matters at the Almaty campus, aligning with Coventry University Kazakhstan’s mission and wider university group objectives.
• Ensure high-quality delivery of academic programmes in compliance with UK quality assurance frameworks and Kazakh regulatory standards.
• Develop, review, and implement academic policies, procedures, and quality assurance systems to maintain excellence in teaching and learning.
• Oversee student admissions, progression, retention, and graduation, fostering a supportive academic community and ensuring student success.
• Lead recruitment, development, and retention of academic and professional staff, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity.
• Execute campus budgets, manage financial sustainability, and ensure compliance with local and UK accreditation requirements.
• Represent the campus externally to regulators, industry partners, government bodies, and educational institutions, building strategic partnerships.
• Chair campus committees and contribute to university-wide governance structures, including Academic and Management Boards.
• Monitor and enhance student performance, satisfaction, and support services, including academic advising, careers guidance, and wellbeing initiatives.
