Research Associate in RF Design and Prototyping of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces
Conduct advanced research in RF design, modeling, and prototyping of beyond-diagonal reconfigurable intelligent surfaces at Imperial College London.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a strong background in RF design, microwave circuit theory, and antenna prototyping.
Overview
Imperial College London is seeking a full-time Research Associate to conduct original research in RF design, modeling, and prototyping of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. Funded by the UKRI Hub in All-Spectrum Connectivity, the successful candidate will design and prototype beyond-diagonal reconfigurable intelligent surfaces using reconfigurable impedance networks and nonlocal metasurfaces. The role involves assessing the feasibility and benefits of these technologies for next-generation wireless networks. The position is based at the South Kensington Campus in London and runs until September 2028, with a potential extension.
What you'll do
- Take initiative in planning and structuring original research activities.
- Identify, develop, and apply suitable apparatus and techniques for data collection and analysis.
- Conduct rigorous data analysis while ensuring ongoing data validity and reliability.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all research findings and experimental data.
- Write technical reports and progress summaries for submission to research sponsors.
- Present research findings to academic colleagues, project stakeholders, and international conferences.
- Draft and submit scientific papers to refereed journals.
- Provide mentorship, supervision, and guidance to junior staff and students.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in RF design, modelling, and prototyping of radio systems, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and/or metasurfaces (or very near completion)
