Overview
The American University of Armenia invites applications for the William Frazer Endowed Named Professorship, a full-time faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The position is open to accomplished scholars in science, engineering, and related transdisciplinary fields whose work bridges scientific, technical, and policy domains. Appointees will provide strategic leadership in research, secure external funding, and contribute to institutional development through the university's various research centers. This renewable three- to five-year term position requires the incumbent to reside in Armenia and offers comprehensive relocation and housing support for international candidates.
What you'll do
- Provide strategic leadership in research, scholarship, and the stewardship of externally funded research programs.
- Develop and sustain a high-impact research agenda with national and international visibility.
- Secure competitive external research funding and lead major grant applications and sponsored projects.
- Foster interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration across university colleges and research centers.
- Contribute to institutional research capacity-building through collaborative initiatives with faculty members.
- Engage in scholarly and outreach activities that advance the mission and societal impact of the institution.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in a relevant discipline
Language: English
Instruction: English
Publications: An internationally recognized record of scholarly excellence evidenced by sustained publication
- Demonstrated preparation for senior academic leadership and university service
- Internationally recognized record of scholarly excellence and intellectual leadership through sustained publication
- Demonstrated ability to secure, direct, and steward externally funded research programs
- Capacity to establish, lead, and sustain an independent research group
- Demonstrated commitment to transdisciplinary and collaborative research
- Must reside in Armenia for the duration of the appointment
