PhD Position in Reversible Programming for Energy Efficient Cyber-Physical Systems
Join a European doctoral network to advance energy-efficient computing through reversible programming languages.
Best for:Best for computer science or software engineering graduates interested in programming language design and energy-efficient computing.
Overview
The SDU Drone Center at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a 3-year PhD position focused on reversible programming languages for energy-efficient cyber-physical systems. As part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network E-CoRe, the successful candidate will develop new programming constructs and integrate them into simulated systems like drones and IoT devices. The role involves collaborative research, international secondments, and the analysis of energy consumption in computing. Applicants will work under the supervision of Professor Ulrik Pagh Schultz and contribute to a vibrant international research community.
What you'll do
- Implement and extend algorithms using reversible programming languages.
- Integrate developed software into simulated cyber-physical systems such as drones and IoT devices.
- Analyze and estimate energy consumption using established network modeling frameworks.
- Investigate the correlation between reversible computation and system I/O characteristics.
- Publish research findings in high-impact international conferences and journals.
- Participate in E-CoRe network training schools, events, and planned secondments.
- Engage in outreach activities and contribute to the Drone Center's project portfolio.
