Overview

This Bioinformatics Research Associate position at Imperial College London supports the ARIA-funded M2M programme, aiming to uncover innate immune mechanisms for respiratory viral protection. The role involves leading the integration and analysis of complex multi-omics datasets (e.g., single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics) to generate novel biological insights. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary consortium—including academics at UCL, Cambridge, and industry partners—you will develop computational pipelines, support AI-driven therapeutic discovery, and contribute to high-impact publications. The position bridges bioinformatics, immunology, AI, and translational medicine, offering a unique opportunity to advance global health research.

What you'll do

  • Lead the harmonisation, integration, and advanced analysis of large-scale multi-omics datasets (e.g., single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics).
  • Develop, maintain, and document robust computational pipelines for processing and quality control of next-generation sequencing and proteomics data.
  • Identify innate immune correlates of protection through bioinformatics analyses across clinical and laboratory-derived datasets.
  • Collaborate with AI and mathematical modelling teams to ensure bioinformatics outputs support predictive modelling and therapeutic development.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams (academic and industry partners) to deliver project milestones and contribute to high-impact publications.
  • Present findings to collaborators, funding bodies, and at scientific conferences.
  • Implement FAIR data principles and open science practices across the programme.
