PhD Position: Reconstructing Nanophotonic Scattering Geometries from Radiation Patterns
Develop physics-informed algorithms for lensless imaging and nanoscale geometry reconstruction.
Best for:Best for candidates with a strong background in physics or photonics who are interested in computational imaging and industry-relevant research.
Overview
AMOLF is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to join the Resonant Nanophotonics group as part of the CHAIN consortium. The research focuses on advancing computational imaging techniques to reconstruct strongly scattering nanoscale geometries, with applications in semiconductor metrology. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of experimental Fourier microscopy and physics-informed algorithmic development. This role involves close collaboration with academic and industry partners to push the boundaries of lensless imaging and diffraction data analysis.
What you'll do
- Develop physics-informed algorithms for reconstructing nanoscale geometries from diffraction data.
- Perform experimental measurements using Fourier microscopy and spatial light modulators.
- Collaborate with the CHAIN consortium and industry partners on semiconductor metrology applications.
- Analyze diffraction patterns to extract geometrical parameters of strongly scattering structures.
- Participate in regular work discussions and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Contribute to the development of new functional materials and nanophotonic structures.
