PhD Fellowship in Multiscale, Stochastic and Data-Driven Modeling of Materials
Join an international PhD programme focused on predictive simulation and data-driven design of construction materials.
Best for:Best for researchers with a strong background in computational mechanics, material science, or scientific computing.
Overview
The PICTUS International PhD Programme at the Czech Technical University in Prague offers a 48-month fellowship for doctoral candidates. The research focuses on predictive, simulation-based design of construction materials, integrating multi-scale, multi-physics, and stochastic modeling with data-driven techniques. Successful candidates will develop their own research proposals based on provided topics and benefit from international secondments at Eindhoven University of Technology and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. The programme aims to advance state-of-the-art material informatics and simulation methodologies.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute an independent research proposal within the scope of multiscale and data-driven material modeling.
- Integrate physical-based models with data-driven techniques to advance material informatics.
- Participate in 4-6 months of international training and secondments at partner institutions.
- Engage in collaborative research with international supervisors and research teams.
- Contribute to the development of efficient and mathematically sound simulation approaches for construction materials.
- Participate in PhD coursework and professional development activities including technical writing and presentation training.
