Doctoral Position in Lower-Field Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Develop advanced MR imaging techniques and physics-informed machine learning for lower-field cardiac diagnostics at ETH Zurich.
Best for:Best for master's graduates in engineering or physics with strong programming skills and an interest in medical imaging and machine learning.
Overview
This doctoral position is offered by the Cardiac Magnetic Resonance group at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, ETH Zurich. The successful candidate will focus on MR pulse sequence design, image reconstruction, and physics-informed machine learning to advance time-resolved morphological and tissue property imaging of the heart. The work involves conducting numerical simulations, experimental measurements, and volunteer scans to support digital twinning of the heart. Applicants are expected to hold a relevant master's degree and demonstrate strong programming and analytical skills.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize magnetic resonance pulse sequences and image reconstruction algorithms
- Implement classical and physics-informed machine learning approaches for data inference and fusion
- Conduct numerical simulations, experimental measurements, and imaging sessions with volunteers
- Collaborate with clinical partners to acquire patient data for populating digital twins
- Analyze and critically interpret experimental data to advance time-resolved cardiac imaging
Requirements
