Postdoctoral Researcher in Translational Cancer Research
Investigate how environmental exposures and inflammation drive blood and prostate cancers in the Verma Laboratory.
Best for:Best for molecular biologists and cancer researchers with a strong background in stem cell assays, single-cell multiomics, and preclinical disease models.
Overview
The Verma Laboratory within the Department of Pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to examine the links between inflammation, DNA damage, stem cell aging, and cancer progression. The successful candidate will employ murine and humanized models, patient samples, single-cell multiomics, and proteomics to uncover therapeutic targets and evaluate novel investigational treatments. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for translational impact within a well-funded, collaborative, and resource-rich research environment. Applicants are expected to conduct rigorous mechanistic studies, manage experimental workflows, and contribute actively to scholarly publications.
What you'll do
- Design and execute mechanistic experiments examining inflammation, DNA damage, and stem cell aging using murine and humanized models.
- Process and analyze human patient samples alongside single-cell multiomics data such as CITE-seq.
- Perform advanced flow cytometry and proteomics assays to uncover therapeutic targets within inflammatory pathways.
- Test novel investigational drugs in preclinical models and support early-phase clinical trial evaluations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to interpret findings and advance translational research goals.
- Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and present research findings at scientific meetings.
