Overview

This fully-funded PhD studentship at the University of East Anglia examines the environmental consequences of emerging biodegradable plastics compared to conventional materials and paper alternatives. Based within the School of Biological Sciences and the Centre for Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation, the project involves conducting laboratory and in situ field experiments in aquatic environments. The successful candidate will assess biodiversity changes, carbon cycling, and ecosystem functioning to inform pollution reduction policies. Comprehensive training in ecotoxicology, experimental design, and biogeochemical cycling will be provided.
