Postdoctoral Researcher in Cardiovascular Research
Investigate vascular function, immunity, and regenerative therapeutics for cardiovascular disease at the University of Pennsylvania.
Best for:Best for motivated postdoctoral researchers with a strong background in cardiovascular biology, immunology, or vascular research and practical experience with animal models.
Overview
The University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine invites applications for one or two Postdoctoral Researcher positions within the Cardiovascular Institute laboratories of Dr. Yanqing (Anna) Gong and Dr. Yi Fan. The appointed fellows will drive research investigating vascular function and immunity in cardiovascular disease, focusing on cardiac repair mechanisms after myocardial infarction, vessel tube formation, endothelial cell plasticity, and immune modulation. Responsibilities include conducting experimental studies, utilizing animal models, and exploring innovative immunotherapies such as CAR-T or engineered myeloid cells for cardiovascular applications. Candidates are expected to bring a strong background in biology or medicine, work collaboratively, and contribute actively to advancing novel regenerative therapeutics.
What you'll do
- Design and execute experimental studies investigating vascular function and immunity in cardiovascular disease models
- Examine molecular mechanisms of cardiac repair following myocardial infarction, focusing on vessel tube formation and endothelial plasticity
- Apply cellular and molecular biology techniques alongside animal models to advance regenerative therapeutics
- Investigate novel immunotherapies for cardiovascular conditions using engineered myeloid cells or CAR-T approaches
- Analyze research data, draft scientific manuscripts for publication, and present findings at academic meetings
