Fault-Tolerant Remote Sensing Data Dissemination for Climate and Sustainability
Develop adaptive, fault-tolerant data dissemination protocols for drone swarms to enhance environmental monitoring precision.
Best for:Best for computer science PhD candidates with a strong background in distributed systems, algorithms, and environmental monitoring, seeking to contribute to climate research through innovative drone technology.
Overview
This doctoral project at ENAC focuses on designing fault-tolerant data dissemination protocols for drone swarms to improve environmental monitoring in remote ecosystems. The research addresses critical challenges in distributed systems, such as intermittent communication, network partitions, and energy constraints, to enable adaptive sensing data collection. The project aims to survey existing techniques, design novel protocols tailored to specific ecosystems, and validate findings through a proof-of-concept. It combines expertise in computer science, algorithms, and environmental science to advance climate change research and sustainability efforts.
