Research Associate - InflamAb Project
Support preclinical development and therapeutic efficacy studies of InflamAb for inflammatory disease at Ulster University.
Best for:Best for biomedical researchers with a PhD and experience in quantitative disease research and inflammation pathways.
Overview
Ulster University's School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated Research Associate to support the preclinical development of InflamAb, a novel therapeutic candidate targeting inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will design and execute experimental studies to evaluate the biological activity, mechanism of action, and therapeutic efficacy of the candidate. Working within the School of Medicine in Derry~Londonderry, the role involves generating robust evidence to map inflammatory pathway modulation and advance translational research. This fixed-term appointment runs until August 2027 and is supported by an Invest Northern Ireland Proof of Concept Award.
What you'll do
- Design and conduct experimental studies to investigate the biological activity of the InflamAb therapeutic candidate.
- Examine the mechanism of action and potential therapeutic efficacy of InflamAb in inflammatory disease models.
- Generate robust scientific evidence demonstrating how InflamAb modulates key inflammatory pathways.
- Contribute data and findings to support the progression of the candidate toward further preclinical development stages.
- Engage in commercialisation activities and assist in translating research findings into practical therapeutic applications.
- Contribute to the university's overall research objectives, high-impact scientific outputs, and innovative disease approaches.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD (awarded or near completion with thesis submitted) in a relevant area such as biomedical sciences, alongside an undergraduate honours or Master's degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
Language: English
Instruction: English
- Demonstrated research experience investigating human disease using quantitative research methods.
- Hands-on expertise in assay design and delivery for preclinical biological evaluation.
