Overview

This fully funded PhD position at the University of Basel focuses on investigating the global distribution and spread of non-native plant species in mountain ecosystems. The project, funded by the ERC under the GloNoMo initiative, aims to identify which species may become invasive before they disrupt natural habitats. The successful candidate will conduct macroecological analyses using global monitoring data, collaborate with international research networks (GLORIA and MIREN), and contribute to teaching and group research activities. Fieldwork is optional but encouraged. The position offers integration into a supportive academic environment with career development opportunities in Switzerland’s international city of Basel.
