PhD Position in Enhanced Quantum-Radiofrequency Sensors
Investigate hybrid radiofrequency sensor systems combining Rydberg atoms with electromagnetic structuring at CEA Leti.
Best for:Best for physics or electrical engineering graduates with strong backgrounds in electromagnetism, atomic physics, and numerical simulation.
Overview
This PhD project is offered through the Carnot SpectroRF exploratory project at CEA Leti, in collaboration with Université Grenoble Alpes. The research focuses on developing high-performance radio-frequency sensors that integrate atomic optical spectroscopy utilizing Rydberg atoms with customized metallic or charged environments. The candidate will investigate the theoretical limits of this hybrid approach using analytical modeling and electromagnetic simulations, supported by empirical validation in an anechoic chamber. The expected outcomes include high-impact academic publications and potentially exploitable industrial patents.
