The Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Zagreb invites applications for a temporary, full-time senior teaching assistant position within the Department of Geotechnics. The appointee will engage in scientific, teaching, and professional activities in the field of civil engineering over a 4-year contract term. Responsibilities include supporting academic instruction, conducting research in technical sciences, and participating in departmental evaluations. Candidates are expected to hold a relevant doctorate and meet the legal requirements for academic associates in Croatia.
What you'll do
- Deliver teaching and academic support within the Department of Geotechnics
- Conduct scientific research and professional activities in the field of civil engineering
- Contribute to student instruction, evaluation, and academic duties
- Produce and publish academic papers and research findings
- Participate in administrative and departmental tasks as required by the faculty
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in the area of technical sciences, the field of civil engineering
Language: Croatian (B2 level required if non-native); active knowledge of English
Instruction: Croatian and English
Publications: List of papers demonstrating scientific and professional activity
- Demonstrated background in civil engineering and geotechnics
- Active knowledge of the English language
- Proven computer literacy and technical skills
- Prior record of scientific, teaching, or professional publications
- Must fulfill general employment conditions and requirements prescribed by the Croatian Scientific Activity and Higher Education Law
- Non-native Croatian speakers must provide proof of Croatian language proficiency at level B2
