Overview
The Khalil Research Group at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to spearhead research into the development and application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs). The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on leveraging chemistry, reaction engineering, and manufacturing principles to solve critical challenges in energy and water sectors. This role involves conducting independent research on high-throughput COF synthesis, focusing on scalability and practical device integration. The appointee will work in a state-of-the-art facility and contribute to the group's broader funding and publication goals.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent research on the synthesis and application of covalent organic frameworks.
- Design and build automated experimental setups for high-throughput material processing.
- Develop and prototype devices for practical water treatment and energy storage applications.
- Perform rigorous experimental characterization of synthesized materials.
- Publish high-quality research findings in leading academic journals and conferences.
- Contribute actively to the group's grant writing and funding acquisition efforts.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Language: English proficiency is required for research and communication.
Instruction: English
Publications: Extensive research and publication record in well-known journals and conference papers.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant post-PhD research experience.
- Extensive track record of high-impact publications in well-known journals.
- Advanced expertise in device engineering and experimental design.
- Proficiency in materials characterization techniques relevant to COFs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead independent research projects.
- Must hold a PhD in a relevant field.
- Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience post-PhD.
