Overview

This fully funded 4-year PhD studentship at The University of Manchester focuses on characterizing and managing arc faults in modern aerospace power drive systems. Operating in partnership with Rolls-Royce at the University Technology Centre in Electrical Systems, the project supports broader initiatives like the MOSFET research programme toward sustainable flight. The candidate will build laboratory test systems to emulate and study fault inception, propagation environments, and operating margins. The successful applicant will work within the Energy Conversion Group under the supervision of Dr. Siniša Đurović.
