Overview

The Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Science at the University of Potsdam offers a research-oriented and professionally focused programme exploring the role of physical activity in disease prevention, rehabilitation, and sports performance. Students engage in both clinical applications—such as medical training therapy for patients—and high-performance physiology, including work with Olympic athletes and collaborations with hospitals and rehabilitation centres. The curriculum integrates theoretical, methodological, and experimental studies with hands-on professional training, preparing graduates for careers in healthcare, sports science, and research. The programme also provides a pathway to a combined PhD in Clinical Exercise Science, ideal for those aiming for academic or managerial roles. The teaching is entirely in English, with no German language requirements.
