Overview
The University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics is seeking a University Teacher in Design Informatics on a fixed-term contract until June 2027. Associated with the Institute for Design Informatics, the successful candidate will design, deliver, and assess courses focusing on data visualization and data representation. Responsibilities include motivating students, developing teaching materials, and contributing to a dynamic interdisciplinary research and teaching environment. Applicants are expected to have relevant teaching experience and strong expertise in data visualization or related technical domains.
What you'll do
- Teach undergraduate and Master's level courses in Design Informatics and data visualization.
- Develop innovative teaching materials, methods, and approaches.
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Impart knowledge, motivate, and inspire students within the disciplines of data, design, and technology.
- Participate in academic activities associated with the Institute for Design Informatics.
Requirements
Degree required: Degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Informatics, or Design.
Language: English
Instruction: English
- Expertise in data visualization and/or building and implementing data representations.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate or postgraduate students.
- Ability to develop teaching materials, methods, and approaches.
- Experience in assessing student performance.
