Overview
Hong Kong Baptist University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor within the Department of Chemistry. The successful candidate will conduct independent, high-quality research, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and contribute to impactful technological innovations. Responsibilities also include teaching, developing a vigorous research program in basic and translational chemical or environmental engineering, and supervising postgraduate students. Applicants are expected to hold a relevant PhD with postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record, and demonstrated success in securing external grants.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent, high-quality research and foster interdisciplinary collaborations within the department.
- Develop and maintain a vigorous research program focused on basic and translational chemical or environmental engineering.
- Supervise MPhil and PhD students toward successful thesis completion.
- Secure external research funding through competitive grant applications.
- Engage in broader scholarly activities, including organizing academic conferences, symposia, and seminars.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Chemical Science or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Science or Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
Language: English
Instruction: English
Publications: Excellent track record of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals as first and/or senior author
