Master of Science in Embedded Systems Design
A cutting-edge programme in embedded systems engineering for industrial, medical, and scientific applications.
Best for:Best for technical graduates with a strong foundation in electrical engineering, mathematics, and programming seeking to specialise in embedded systems for industrial, medical, or scientific applications.
Overview
The Master of Science in Embedded Systems Design at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences focuses on the development of integrated digital control and software for mechanical and electromechanical systems. This programme equips students with expertise in mechatronics, control engineering, programmable logic systems (FPGAs), and software development, preparing them for careers in diverse sectors like industrial equipment, medical devices, and scientific instruments. The curriculum blends theoretical coursework with hands-on lab sessions, culminating in a research-oriented master’s thesis. Students benefit from international collaborations, guest lectures, and optional study abroad opportunities, ensuring a globally oriented education in embedded systems innovation.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement embedded systems for industrial, medical, and scientific applications using mechatronics and control engineering principles.
- Design and test digital systems using VHDL and programmable logic devices (FPGAs).
- Apply model-based real-time software development techniques to create reliable embedded software solutions.
- Conduct research and develop a master’s thesis on a topic related to embedded systems, either university-driven or industry-focused.
- Participate in hands-on laboratory sessions to apply theoretical knowledge to practical embedded systems projects.
- Collaborate with international guest lecturers and participate in optional study abroad programmes to broaden expertise.
- Engage in requirements engineering to ensure embedded systems meet functional and safety standards.
