Overview

This master’s programme at Bielefeld University integrates biology, neuroscience, psychology, computer science, and robotics to investigate how brains generate adaptive behaviour. Students gain expertise in neural mechanisms, computational modelling, and evolutionary biology, with a focus on bridging neurophysiology and behavioural ecology. The curriculum combines lectures, lab courses, and independent research projects, culminating in a six-month thesis. Optional study abroad units encourage international collaboration, and the programme emphasizes hands-on training in scientific writing and presentation. Ideal for applicants with a BSc in biology, neuroscience, psychology, or related fields who seek a rigorous, interdisciplinary approach to understanding behaviour across scales.
