Overview

This PhD project investigates the potential for embedding transdiagnostic mental health interventions into third-sector support services for young people exposed to adversity. The research aims to identify key psychological processes—such as emotional dysregulation and negative self-beliefs—that can be effectively targeted to improve mental health outcomes. Working within the NIHR Mental Health Research Group at the University of Bath, the successful candidate will examine how these interventions can be adapted for charity-based support settings. The project seeks to bridge the gap between clinical research and community-based provision for youth under 25. Applicants are expected to contribute to a large, multidisciplinary team focused on improving mental health support for vulnerable populations.
