Doctoral Researcher in Endocrine Disruptor-Mediated Neurotoxicity
Explore neurotoxic effects of endocrine disruptors using cross-species Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) with zebrafish and cell-based methods.
Best for:Best for early-career researchers with a background in toxicology, neuroscience, or molecular biology, interested in cross-species translational research and public health applications.
Overview
This doctoral position at the University of Antwerp focuses on investigating how endocrine disruptors impact neurotoxicity across species. The project leverages zebrafish embryos and cell-based assays to develop cross-species Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs). The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research, collaborate with partners in Milan, and contribute to public health insights. The role is part of the MSCA Doctoral Network and offers a fully funded stipend for a 36-month contract, including secondments for interdisciplinary training. Applicants should have a strong background in toxicology, neuroscience, or related fields and a passion for translational research.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research on endocrine disruptor-mediated neurotoxicity using zebrafish embryos and cell-based assays.
- Develop and validate cross-species Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) to assess neurotoxic effects.
- Collaborate with international partners in Milan to integrate public health perspectives into research.
- Publish findings in high-impact scientific journals and present results at national and international conferences.
- Participate in secondments for interdisciplinary training and networking within the MSCA Doctoral Network.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, data, and results for reproducibility and regulatory compliance.
