Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences (AIMS) Master’s Programme
An interdisciplinary, research-focused Master’s programme integrating AI and molecular sciences for drug design, spectroscopy, and data-driven biology.
Best for:Best for students with a Bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, computer science, or related fields, seeking to specialise in AI-driven molecular sciences with hands-on research experience.
Overview
The Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences (AIMS) Master’s programme at Technische Universität Braunschweig is a research-oriented, international, and fully English-taught degree. It equips students with advanced skills in AI, machine learning, and computational methods to accelerate molecular simulations and analyse high-dimensional biological data. With three specialisations—Chemical Synthesis and Drug Design, Spectroscopy and Imaging, and Data-Driven Biology—students engage in interdisciplinary coursework, independent research, and a Master’s thesis. The programme leverages TU Braunschweig’s strong ties to industry and research institutions in the Braunschweig region, fostering a multicultural and collaborative learning environment. It is designed for graduates seeking to bridge AI and molecular sciences for impactful careers in academia or industry.
What you'll do
- Develop and apply AI models to accelerate physical simulations of molecular structures and dynamics.
- Conduct independent research in one of three specialisations: Chemical Synthesis and Drug Design, Spectroscopy and Imaging, or Data-Driven Biology.
- Complete a Master’s thesis in English, presenting original scientific research under faculty supervision.
- Engage in interdisciplinary coursework combining applied mathematics, computer science, and molecular sciences.
- Participate in optional study-abroad units through established Erasmus partnerships or new international collaborations.
- Collaborate with research facilities and industry partners in the Braunschweig region.
- Present research findings in seminars and conferences, fostering a multicultural academic environment.
