Pre-Doctoral PhD Research Position in Plant H₂S Signaling
Explore hydrogen sulfide signaling in plant stress responses and autophagy regulation within a cutting-edge research project.
Best for:Best for biology, biochemistry, or biotechnology graduates with a master’s degree, strong academic records, and an interest in plant stress physiology and molecular biology.
Overview
This pre-doctoral PhD position at the Instituto de Bioquímica Vegetal y Fotosíntesis in Seville, Spain, focuses on investigating how hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) signaling regulates autophagy and stress responses in plants through mechanisms like persulfidation and S-cyanylation. The role is designed for candidates aiming to pursue a PhD thesis and aligns with the upcoming Spanish FPU call. The successful applicant will contribute to a project bridging biochemistry, plant biology, and stress physiology, with a strong emphasis on experimental research and academic excellence. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment and develop expertise in plant stress signaling pathways.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research on hydrogen sulfide signaling pathways in plants, focusing on autophagy and stress responses.
- Develop and implement molecular biology techniques to study persulfidation and S-cyanylation mechanisms.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to contribute to the understanding of plant stress regulation.
- Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with the research group to design and execute research protocols.
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and ensure compliance with ethical and safety standards.
