Overview

This two-year Master of Science programme at RWTH Aachen University specialises in Biomedical Systems Engineering, a fusion of electrical engineering, information technology, and biomedical sciences. Students gain expertise in designing medical devices, signal processing for biomedical applications, and systems engineering for healthcare. The curriculum combines core modules in electrical engineering, advanced signal processing, and engineering physiology with hands-on laboratory work, project-based learning, and an 18-week industrial internship. Graduates develop skills to address real-world medical challenges, from diagnostic tools to therapeutic devices, while preparing for careers in research, industry, or further academic study. The programme is taught entirely in English, with mandatory German language courses for international students who do not meet B1 proficiency.
