Research Associate (Cardiac Physiology)
Join a research team at Tokai University investigating cardiac conduction systems and arrhythmia therapies.
Best for:Researchers with a background in physiology, molecular biology, or cardiac sciences and experience in animal models or electrophysiology.
Overview
The Department of Applied Molecular Physiology at Tokai University is seeking a motivated researcher to join their team focused on cardiac physiology. The laboratory investigates the mechanisms of heart rate regulation and the development of novel treatments for arrhythmias, utilizing a multi-scale approach from molecular and genetic levels to whole-organ and animal models. The successful candidate will contribute to experimental design, data collection, and analysis, while also assisting with laboratory operations and educational support. This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped environment with access to advanced imaging and analytical facilities. Applicants are expected to engage actively in research output, including manuscript preparation and grant applications.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute experimental protocols related to cardiac physiology and arrhythmia research.
- Perform animal experiments using mouse models, including tissue sampling under stereomicroscopy.
- Conduct electrophysiological analysis at both the individual and tissue levels.
- Acquire and analyze high-resolution images using optical, confocal, and electron microscopy.
- Perform bioinformatics analysis on next-generation sequencing data using R or Python.
- Contribute to laboratory management, administrative tasks, and educational assistance.
- Prepare research findings for publication and actively participate in grant application processes.
