PhD Studentship - Understanding Muscle Metabolism Responses to Feeding in Adult Survivors of Childhood ALL
Investigate anabolic resistance and skeletal muscle metabolism in adult survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Best for:Best for aspiring biomedical researchers with a strong background in exercise physiology, metabolism, or clinical nutrition.
Overview
The GW4 BioMed3 Doctoral Landscape Programme is offering a funded four-year PhD studentship at the University of Exeter within the Department of Public Health and Sport Sciences. The research project explores whether anabolic resistance contributes to premature frailty and muscle atrophy in adult survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. The selected candidate will conduct experimental studies measuring muscle metabolism responses to dietary stimuli and physical activity. The findings will directly inform the creation of targeted dietary and exercise rehabilitation interventions for vulnerable patient populations.
