PhD Researcher in Chemical Ecology of Plant-Insect Interactions for Agroecological Crop Protection
Investigate chemical ecology to develop sustainable agroecological strategies for crop protection.
Best for:Best for candidates with a background in ecology, entomology, or chemical biology interested in sustainable agriculture.
Overview
This PhD position focuses on the chemical ecology of plant-insect interactions, aiming to advance agroecological methods for crop protection. The successful candidate will conduct research to understand the chemical signals mediating these interactions and apply this knowledge to develop sustainable agricultural practices. The project is based in the Occitanie region of France and requires a dedicated researcher interested in interdisciplinary agricultural science. Applicants are expected to contribute to innovative solutions for reducing chemical inputs in farming.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research on chemical signaling between plants and insects.
- Analyze the role of semiochemicals in mediating plant-insect interactions.
- Develop and test agroecological strategies for effective crop protection.
- Collect and interpret field and laboratory data to support research objectives.
- Prepare scientific reports and publications based on research findings.
