Conduct advanced mass spectrometry-based proteomics and structural biology research at the University of Pennsylvania.
Best for:Best for experienced proteomics researchers with a strong background in mass spectrometry, protein biochemistry, and molecular biology.
Overview
The Department of Physiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, seeks a Research Associate to join its academic support staff. The appointee will spearhead research in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, structural proteomics, and mitochondrial biology while operating advanced LC-MS/MS instrumentation. Responsibilities include designing and executing independent and collaborative research workflows, managing complex datasets, and mentoring junior trainees. Candidates will also have opportunities to contribute to grant writing, manuscript preparation, and interdisciplinary scientific initiatives.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in structural proteomics, chemical biology, and mitochondrial biology.
- Develop and implement mass spectrometry-based workflows, including chemical crosslinking mass spectrometry (XL-MS), quantitative proteomics, and protein interaction mapping.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced LC-MS/MS instrumentation and Orbitrap platforms.
- Analyze complex proteomics datasets using advanced software tools.
- Mentor students and junior research trainees.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant writing, and collaborative research initiatives.
