Study hematopoietic stem cell biology and blood formation at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Best for:Best for recent PhD graduates in molecular biology or stem cell research with strong background in mouse models and hematopoiesis.
Overview
The Cancelas/Singh Laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to investigate hematopoietic stem cell biology, blood formation, and the bone marrow microenvironment in health and disease. Under the mentorship of Drs. Cancelas and Singh, the successful candidate will apply cellular, molecular, genetic, and computational techniques to explore mechanisms of normal and malignant hematopoiesis. The position involves designing experiments, conducting in vivo and ex vivo studies, analyzing complex biological datasets, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary research environment. Applicants are expected to hold a recent doctoral degree and demonstrate a strong background in molecular biology, stem cell research, or related fields.
What you'll do
- Design and execute experiments investigating fundamental mechanisms of hematopoietic cell function.
- Perform functional and molecular analyses using primary murine and human hematopoietic tissues.
- Apply cellular, molecular, genetic, and metabolic methods to study hematopoiesis.
- Develop and utilize ex vivo and in vivo models representing normal and malignant hematopoiesis.
- Analyze, interpret, and maintain accurate records of experimental data.
- Collaborate with experimental, computational, and clinical investigators across multiple institutions.
- Present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
- Contribute to the drafting of scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications.
