Overview

This PhD studentship at The University of Manchester focuses on addressing critical challenges in the sustainable production of bioplastics. The successful candidate will develop computational models to optimise nanocellulose supply chains in the UK, balancing sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact. The project aims to identify strategies for low-carbon bio-based supply chains that support the UK’s circular economy transition. The role involves interdisciplinary research at the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and computational modelling, with a specific emphasis on supply chain optimisation and decision-making under complex constraints.
